Owasso, Oklahoma became the focus of national retail attention in 2003. The Owasso community has become a regional retail shopping hub to over 450,000 residents of northeast Oklahoma with the  addition of almost 5 million square feet of national retail over the last several years. Owasso got on the national retail radar by aggressively marketing its prime location and unique alignments of several state and US highways that funneled a remarkable stream of consumers through the city. Owasso is home to retail giants Target, Best Buy, Belk, Kohls, and one of the most dynamic Super Wal-Marts in the state. The largest free standing JC Penneys in Oklahoma just opened recently.  The Owasso retail corridor is a five mile stretch of US 169 that continues to boom and stimulate retail investment in the market. Owasso has had several years of strong residential development that has become the foundation for hundreds of millions of dollars of private investment in the community. Creative public / private partnerships paved the way for the retail growth. The City of Owasso is actively seeking retail development projects to provide its businesses and residents with the convenience of local shopping and dining.

Retail Attractions is proud to be the economic development consultant for the City of Owasso, Oklahoma. Owasso is strategically located on Highway 169 just north of Tulsa. Owasso’s remarkable growth in recent years bears witness to the many positive forces at work in the city. The city welcomes the opportunity to share this information with the development community.
